Techsters go in new direction

A former Kodak All-American, Wade Trophy recipient and NCAA Team of the Decade (1980s) member while at Tech, Weatherspoon was announced Monday afternoon to a new role on the staff.
She will step into the interim shoes for the remainder of the season following the termination of Chris Long as the top coach.
Long had served in that position since the 2005-06 season and was 23 games into his fourth season before getting word of his status late Monday morning.
Weatherspoon joined the Techsters’ staff earlier this year as an associate head coach.
