Shopping not so taxing

While all merchants are required to participate in the state tax exemptions, some retailers in Ruston are going the extra mile. Bodie’s Furniture and Sister’s Too have elected to pay out of pocket the parish sales tax on all qualifying tax-free items purchased Friday and Saturday.

Alumni, friends hear what’s ‘Happening’

Reneau said he wanted to linger on the end of that letter — written by a freshman student — because of the truth in it.
“Understand that the secret to our success is the people,” Reneau said. “It’s the Derek Dooleys, the vice presidents, the department heads and others.”
Reneau went on to talk about the two areas he thinks of the most right now as areas of the potential the student wrote about — facilities and athletics — but not before discussing some academic achievements.
