Tech, GSU going different routes

That’s the question confronting Tech and Grambling when they both play at home. The Bulldogs have a 6 p.m. meeting against Idaho at Joe Aillet Stadium, while the Tigers take on Alabama State at Robinson Stadium beginning at 2 p.m.
It’s the last time both parish clubs will be on their own turf on the same Saturday this season.
For Tech, a “must win” situation has arrived in the nine-member WAC. In a late Saturday night game against Hawaii in Honolulu, the Bulldogs fell 24-14, marking the second road loss in as many tries against a league opponent this season.

How we got to this moment

Rosalyn started that summer in Atlanta, closing in on a decision to come back home to Louisiana to finish out her degree in photography. Her choice to follow her instincts about people (which will never cease to amaze me) found her living with her friend Genevieve from Baton Rouge in a large, low-rent, low-temperature house on La. 33 as she geared up for enrollment at Louisiana Tech.

Volunteers the lifeblood of Dixie Center

These community volunteers have a heart for the arts and deserve the gratitude of those of us who enjoy Dixie shows.
Dixie Executive Director Marlen Waters is hoping to drum up a few new volunteers for the upcoming season, and it’s something we hope many will consider.
On Thursday, the Dixie will roll out the red carpet for past volunteers and those who are interested in getting involved during the “You’re a Star Tonight” event. Enjoy refreshments, a screening of Casablanca and celebrity treatment as you learn about the theater’s upcoming projects and its needs.

Jenkins in at QB

“You can’t throw all of the blame on Taylor because everybody is in this together, but we felt that a change was needed at quarterback,” coach Derek Dooley said at his weekly media luncheon. “I’m not one who wants to get into one of those ‘who’s at quarterback?’ situations every week, but we believe this is the best thing to do in order to hopefully get our offense moving in the right direction.
