Ruston Mayor Dan Hollingsworth serves on the Lincoln-Union Water Supply Initiative commission, a nonprofit organization formed to study water supply alternatives. Representatives from the Lincoln and Union parish police juries and the town of Farmerville also sit on the commission.
“It’s a tremendous step forward, because getting any kind of initial outlay though a water bill in Congress means you have your nose in the tent for future funding,” Hollingsworth said.
“It’s not just what these funds will provide for us, it’s what they can lead to in the future.”
