Gruden admires GSU legacy

“You’re talking about one of the greatest coaches of all time. But much more than that, he was a model for young people and people of all ages. Through Doug, ‘Shack’ and the others who have come through Grambling, I can see the greatness that coach Robinson had in the game and people’s lives.”
Gruden also admitted that “maybe, just maybe, being here can serve as an extra motivation for me and our team this year.
“I think, being around the people who have helped make Grambling such a great place and institution, can help motivate me to be an even better coach and person.”

Alcohol abuse on decline

Not only that, but underage drinking statistics have fallen from 68 percent to 54.3 percent, which is the percentage of underage students who drank in the last 30 days before they took the survey.
This says a lot for the counseling center and Tech athletics, which joined together to work with this CHOICES grant, funded by the NCAA Education Foundation. From silhouettes lining the South Service Road to a blogspot to a student and a collegiate task force, the coalition has been out in full force trying to educate students and parents alike about the real statistics of drinking and driving.

Man with TB appears selfish

Now, I’m not one with the belief that we should be fearful of a person with a contagious disease to the point that person cannot live a comfortable life. However, when that person puts others’ lives in jeopardy for his own convenience, I get a little perturbed.

Capital Outlay funding hits snag

Downs said the bill included provisions to provide full funding for higher education.
“We have a formula for funding higher education, but as a rule, for at least the last 30 years, most schools have only received about 80 percent of the current formula,” Downs said. “Louisiana Tech was one of those schools.”
Downs said the University of Louisiana-Monroe and Grambling State University had been receiving full funding.
“That was necessary to save those schools,” Downs said.
