In the regular season alone, the lefty-swinging star had 19 of his 20 homers along with a .561 average, 19 doubles, three triples, 63 runs scored, 69 runs batted in and a slugging percentage that reads like something out of a fictional book on Believe-It-Or-Not statistics: how about 1.272?

Tech vision for campus looks bright

While this project will cost $14 million and will be underway in the upcoming academic year, this will be a benefit for the depleted Sparta Aquifer. We appreciate Reneau’s efforts to help in this area.
Also, $6 million is currently in the budget for the renovation for the old visual arts building, which will become a new annex for the College of Business, which has been making tremendous strides in helping its students get ready for real world experiences with activities such as the Top Dawg competition.

Saying good-bye — sort of

It’s just really not going to be the same without Blick. He was actually my first professor at Tech. I took a journalism and art course over a three-week period right after high school, and when I saw what was offered, I immediately took Journalism 101. I remember learning about KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) and how to write an effective lead and how important it was to spell every single name correctly.

Politicians, advocates link pre-k, strong economy

Research has indicated significant gains for those students who enroll in LA 4, particularly those “at risk,” for whom it was designed.
Students considered “at risk” include those whose families’ socioeconomic status permit their children to receive free or reduced lunch. Jones said in a 2006 study tracing “at risk” students who spent only one semester in the LA 4 program in 2002, 45 percent fewer of them repeated a grade and 40 percent fewer were placed in special education than other “at risk” students statewide.
