The program enables participants to earn their GED, and in many cases graduates have continued their education at Louisiana Tech and Grambling State University.

“This is mainly to make more information available to kids,” Milstead said. “Many of them believe everybody is going to college. But most high school students either don’t go or don’t finish college, so we want to make them aware of all of their options.”
Lincoln Parish Schools Project ACHIEVE Coordinator Cathi Cox said the center was created after an RHS focus group made up of parents and community members toured a neighboring parish school with a similar program in place.
Holly LeBlanc, a member of the RHS focus group, has a daughter at RHS and a son in the fifth grade.
