“What we stressed all week was that this was going to be energy week,” Richard said. “We were going to go out and play hard, give it all we’ve got and leave everything out there. And it started on Monday in practice after we put the loss (80-52) to Arkansas and our other non-conference games behind us.
“The way we played tonight, this is how I envisioned we could be as a team. Play tough on defense, have balanced scoring and play hard from start to finish. We did that tonight. This is something we can build on.”
The completeness of Tech’s performance was evident across the board.

Remember the Garretts

Its long range goal is to continue the legacy which the family left for all of those who will follow. The life-long respect of their athletes and English students has been passed from generation to generation and the support of the Garrett Foundation will make that a continuing process as the years pass.
Over the decade since the creation of the Garrett Foundation, a number of projects have been completed at Ruston High School.

It’s that time of year again

Similarly, trying to improve your future is directly dependent on improving your present one day — make that one moment — at a time.
So, here we go.
I should begin by repeating the resolutions which are holdovers from past years. I am prevented from doing that not because determinations to lose weight have been successfully accomplished, but rather because The Ruston Daily Leader editor Chuck Cannon has already written an absolutely hysterical column about the various diets he has tried.

Two arrested for burglaries

The pair’s current counts are related to the burglaries of Lincoln Timber Company, Lawery’s and a James Construction Company office trailer. Harris said all locations are either in or near Dubach.
“We have recovered several thousand dollars worth of tools, copper wire and construction materials,” he said. “Our copper thefts have gone up in the last year because the cost of copper has gone up. We’ve even seen people climb under houses and cut out the plumbing.”
