Bulldogs host WAC leading Aggies

Can Tech start turning things around tonight (7 p.m.) at the Thomas Assembly Center?
If the Bulldogs are, they’ll have to do it against New Mexico State, currently in first place among WAC members and winners of 13 straight games.
The Aggies (14-3, 3-0) are the hottest club in the league at the moment, having reeled off that lengthy win streak after having dropped three of their first four games; but those losses came during a grueling early part of the schedule in which NMSU fell at Loyola Marymount (71-69), then No. 15 ranked Arizona (102-87) and at tough New Mexico (79-76).

Hundreds gather to remember MLK

“We all got some lessons in the importance of unity when we had this building filled with evacuees from the hurricanes to hit South Louisiana,” Burt said. “We opened our doors to all of them. We had black, white, Asian, Hispanic — every background possible. And our community took in all of them.
“The experience was a good lesson in what we can accomplish when we work together. The more we do to increase unity, the more we can achieve.”
Keynote speaker the Rev. Chris Witt of South Parkway Worship Center began his remarks by saying the Lord will reward those who seek Him.
