Parish stars could have big year

The 5-9 and 185-pounder is among several parish performers who could reap recognition over the course of the next several months.
Caesar is one of 10 players included on a Lincoln Parish “Players to Watch” list compiled by The Daily Leader.

Schools aim to up scores

Also, Bell said a lot of funding has gone into investing technology labs to help advance academic achievement.
“Our goal is to bring the ACT scores up to the national average. We will encourage them to take advantage of (these programs),” Bell said.
We agree with Bell and hope students take into account that their ACT scores will help determine which college they will attend and also possible help bypass some preliminary college courses.

Go on, spread your wings a little

I really love to be up in the air and look around at all the itsy-bitty houses below.
I’m sure people who have flown hundreds or even dozens of times do not share my enthusiasm, but it’s something about seeing the world at a different angle that excites me.
The flight on the Cessna 172 to Farmerville and back was fun, and I was ecstatic to pass over my own house and take a quick picture.
However, also on the flight, I learned more about flying aircraft in general and about EEA and its upcoming Fly-In.

DEA meth workshop on tap at Tech’s TAC

The free event is open to law enforcement officials, social workers, educators and anyone else who is interested in the issue.
Underage drinking was also a topic at the meeting.
Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Cpt. Wes Harris said in the next few weeks, deputies would be visiting places in the parish licensed to sell alcohol to pass out brochures about the law as it pertains to underage alcohol sales.
Additionally, he said the battle against underage drinking would be broadened to include local churches.
