Show support for theatre

RCT season memberships are currently available on various levels. An individual season membership is $25, $50 buys two memberships and a $70 donation provides a family membership, which includes two adult and two student memberships. Patrons pay $90 for four season memberships, and sponsors receive six season memberships for $125.
Business sponsorships, which provide memberships and ad space, are also available for $250 and $500.

Talk about some monkey business

The lawyer, Charles Jackson III, was told to report on the care given the chimps after a lawsuit was filed by their former caretakers at OSU. It seems Klaree Boose and Stephany Harris, along with California veterinarian Mel Richardson, were worried about the way Primarily Primates treated the retired chimps and monkeys, who were also named as plaintiffs in the suit.

527th soldiers receive court martials

Among those eight from the Charlie Company 527th Engineer Battalion were three sergeants: Patrick Platt, Christopher Bartlett and Matthew Maggio. All three were found guilty by a military court of larceny along with two counts of unauthorized entry of a place of business.
In Platt’s case, he was found guilty of both larceny over $100 and two counts of larceny over $500.
Both Bartlett and Maggio were found not guilty of dereliction of duty, while Platt was found guilty of that charge.

Prep gridders: ‘jam’ time

Ruston High’s junior varsity and freshmen will also be in action that evening, taking on West Monroe at James Stadium beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Then on Saturday, there’s the “Bayou Jamb” set for Malone Stadium on the campus of the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
The Bearcats and West Monroe varsity clubs will clash at approximately 8 p.m. following 4 and 6 p.m. games between Jonesboro-Hodge/Oak Grove and Ouachita/Neville, respectively.
In tonight’s Creek “jam”, action will start off at 6 p.m., with varsity play slated to get under way at 7.

The Temptation of a lifetime

Born in Texas in 1939, this high school dropout eventually wrote an autobiography which led to the making of the NBC mini-series “The Temptations.”
Over the past four decades, 20 other singers and dancers have performed with this group for a period of time that was not “Just My Imagination.”
Present member Terry Weeks decided “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” to keep him from joining the group in 1997, Ron Tyson got the moves in 1983 and Joe Herndon and G.C. Cameron found out how sweet their motion was in 2003 with their acceptance into The Temptations.

Local buses stop to get our attention

Inside the city of Ruston, there are nine schools in the Lincoln Parish School System alone.
Add in private or lab schools, and the numbers increase.
In addition to the students attending school for regular classes, there will likely be some expelled or suspended students getting on and off buses to attend a New Living Word Ministries program between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
As these bus drivers could have different numbers of students to pick up daily, they might be completing their routes even after 9 a.m. on some days.

Tech receives Bradshaw’s football memorabilia

A Pro Football Hall of Fame bust, four Super Bowl rings, Pittsburgh Steelers’ helmet and jersey and mini-Super Bowl trophies, the latter being the only one of their kind and made exclusively for Bradshaw by a close friend in the NFL.
“I don’t how much all of this would be valued and, really, the monetary part of it is insignificant,” Bradshaw said. “I guess you could log on to Ebay and find out, but as far as fans at Louisiana Tech are concerned, it’s a gift they can keep on enjoying in future years.

Guardsmen court martialed for larceny

Schneider said the soldiers, along with three officers, were all appointed counsel and tried in separate cases.
“Different soldiers received different punishments; that’s the legal system we have,” he said.
“The entire military court martials people every day and takes swift justice and that’s what happened in this case.”
He said one of the big issues is the violation of trust on the part of those involved in this incident.
“The biggest thing is trust,” Schneider said.

Bradshaw: gift ‘day’ for Tech

If y’all are happy, then I’m even happier.”
In a public ceremony that attracted an estimated 500 fans on a vintage lhot and humid August afternoon in north Louisiana, Bradshaw officially christened the gold mine of memoirs—four Super Bowl rings, Pro Football Hall of Fame bust, mini-Super Bowl trophies, that he had initially unveiled as gifts to his college alma mater during the lattet part of the spring at the Squire Creek Golf and Country Club in Choudrant.
