A modernized GSU in the works

“Ambling did an outstanding job of taking the President’s vision and meeting it,” he said.
Approximately 12 to 15 companies submitted bids for the project, with four chosen for the final selection. The university is in the process of finalizing negotiations with Ambling; preliminary survey and engineering work has begun.
The multi-phase construction will begin with the demolition of two old dorms. Martha Adams and Jones Hall are currently unoccupied; they were closed due to various problems associated with aged structures.

Tech slate rated toughest

It’s easy to see why.
Not just with the record number of appearances, either.
Start with a season opener on Sept. 2 against the University of Nebraska and go from there.
The Bulldogs will have to deal not only with the Cornhuskers in the first month of the campaign, but also Texas A&M, Clemson and Boise State.
And all away from the about-to-be-refurbished turf of Joe Aillet Stadium.
Head coach Jack Bickell will have an open date following the opener,

Fest impact hits home

Great thanks have gone to all of the corporate and organizational sponsors without whose support the festival would simply not be possible.
And the enormous impact of having Squire Creek Country Club take over the title sponsor role has been acknowledged.
All of these entities and many more richly deserve our thanks for a job well done.
Today we issue another note of recognition and appreciation for those at the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce aided by a grant from the Convention and Visitors Bureau who planned an advertising campaign which came through with great results.

Real winners in my book

Furthermore, it hardly seems suitable for two people I have just praised in print that I should be causing a lot of trouble for them, but that is just what I intend to do. No words are adequate to sufficiently applaud what they have each done with their individual slices of charming downtown Ruston.
Therefore, I would like to suggest that the entire population visit The Children’s Shoppe owned by Patricia Willis and Hawkins Photography owned by Kevin Hawkins. Their locations are both masterpieces. And both buildings house thriving businesses.

Spinning out of control

There was another 18-wheeler in the left-hand lane, so to avoid hitting the vehicle, the driver turned his steering wheel right, causing a collision with this 1998 Dodge Stratus, which was in the merging lane. The collision impact sent the Dodge Stratus spinning across I-20 near mile marker 86, and the driver of the Dodge suffered minor injuries. No one was ticketed.
