Jim King, vice president of Student Affairs at Louisiana Tech University, said the news was not really a surprise.
“We saw this one coming,” King said. “It’s been talked about in the media for a while, and it should not have caught anyone off guard.”
King said the university would check for the vaccination the same way it checks for a student’s MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccination.

Marine takes break from war in Iraq

“When I saw those guys coming home, I guess I wanted to go and do my part,” Gates said. “My dad was a Navy veteran and his brother was in the military, so I decided I’d join. Plus, I wasn’t going anywhere around here.”
It didn’t take Gates long to “go somewhere” in the Marine Corps. After boot camp and a couple of schools, it was off to Okinawa. Following that assignment there were stops in North Carolina, Maryland and
California.
Then there was Iraq.
