Tolbert good enough for 1-A?

The slippery-on-his-feet, sure-to-grab wide receiver at Grambling State University is one of 25 Division 1-AA players listed by the popular web site who could easily be successful in the 1-A ranks.
There’s plenty of evidence to support the case for the senior from
Birmingham, Ala.
Last year, Tolbert led the Southwestern Athletic Conference in four major offensive departments.
He was No. 3 in another division.

Firemen fight for savings

Ford said the department has been preparing for the rating process since he was hired three years ago, and as the rating date got closer, it became more stressful.
“The volunteers and office staff worked really hard to get this rating,” he said.
Ford also said the department has set a goal to get the rating even lower to a Class Three and in the process save homeowners even more money.
Several suggestions were made by the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana, and Ford said the department will take those into account and continue to work toward that designation.

Putting Grambling on the map

The fellow wedding attendee, who hails from west Texas, immediately placed the city as the home of Grambling State University.
I guess GSU has its own appeal that translates across state lines.
This is obvious by the vast differences of the zip codes that students call home. From California to Jamaica, the range of origins is incredible.
The draw of the university is increasing, too, thanks to yearly Bayou Classic appearances and national exposure on BET.

Ruston resident makes a difference

Murphy is on a quest to raise $16,000 for World Vision in order to have a well built for a village in Africa. She said that many children in Africa forfeit school in order to travel for water.
“Carrying my backpack is a daily reminder to me of what some of the women and kids go through. Some of them walk eight hours a day just for dirty water. They don’t have any other option,” Murphy said. “It’s horrible what they go through. I just want to make a difference.”
