Show loyality for your queen

A few days before the pageant she and I picked out the dresses we would wear, and on the day before it, we participated in the interview portion of the competition.
The terms “uh” and “um” became permanently engrained in my vocabulary that day. I was unprepared for this sort of questioning. Tech’s new turf: top of the line

The very same FieldTurf that will be installed at Louisiana Tech University’s home facility over the next several months was ranked No. 5 out of 32.
Players in the league also listed FieldTurf ahead of 15 of the league’s 19 natural grass fields.

Pageant crowns double titles

Miss City of Ruston was named first, and it went to Taryn Sanford.
Sanford said she was excited about her new title and her future as a Ruston Queen.
“This has been a great learning experience for me, and I look forward to the year ahead,” she said.
Aaron Beeson, the physical fitness winner and talent winner, was crowned Miss Queen Dixie Gem.
“This is my first year to do pageants and it is very out of character for a basketball-playing tomboy from Calhoun to be up here,” she said.
“But, I have received a lot of support and good advice. It feels unbelievable to win.”

Bradshaw: nightmare for Aggie foes

In 2005, he helped lead the Class B power to a Louisiana High School Athletic Association state championship and 30-8 record.
This spring, it was back to the state tourney at Bringhurst Park in Alexandria and one game shy of posting back-to-back titles, save for a 10-3 loss to Forest in the finals; and record-wise, the Aggies went a perfect 8-0 for a District 2-B crown and closed out at 27-9 overall, marking the fourth time over the past five years in which the squad had won at least that many games.

Weyerhaeuser sells Simsboro plant

“As part of our review to align our resources, we have determined that the composite panels business is no longer a strategic fit for Weyerhaeuser,” said Steven R. Rogel, chairman, president and chief executive officer.
“We believe that the skilled employees at these highly competitive and efficient mills will provide greater value to Flakeboard, which is more focused on this line of business products.”
