KCS railroads north Louisiana

In addition to the DOTD representatives and Norris, the mayors of Ruston, Grambling, Monroe, Delhi and Rayville attended the two-hour meeting brokered by state Sen. Bob Kostelka, R-Monroe.
Others in attendance included Lincoln Parish Administrator and Engineer Richard Durrett, Ruston Public Works Director Lewis Love, Grambling Police Chief Tommy Clark and Ouachita Parish Police Jury President Walter Caldwell.
Norris, speaking for the mayors in attendance, expressed three main concerns:

Millsap more than rebounds

While it’s a given that Millsap the Magnificent was sitting on top of the rebounding mountain with his 13.3 average, he also was included among the top 10 in six other departments.
The 6-7, 245-pounder was No. 2 in scoring (19.6), field goal percentage (.621), steals (1.88), blocked shots (2.30) and defensive rebounds (7.30).
Millsap also finished No. 7 in minutes played per game at 34.12, making his productivity even more noteworthy.

Concert invites unwanted chaos

Alcohol was abundant, but intoxication was not the only reason some concert attendees had to rely on friends or their feet for a way home.
Five vehicles were towed that evening. Although Lincoln Parish police officers were in the area warning people not to park on the South Service Road’s shoulder, many attendees missed this warning.

Economist forecasts future

Seifried said when he started his research into the aftermath of and recovery from the storm season which devastated much of the Gulf Coast, he was somewhat surprised.
“When we were watching television from Pennsylvania things looked horrible,” Seifried said. “All we could think about was sending aid and condolences. We were just horrified.
“When I got the assignment to research the economics of the real situation for FNB I felt I had a real challenge on my hands. And then the more I got into it, the more I found the situation to be different from what I had originally thought.”
