’Dogs back, bump Broncos

No sweat.
Several of Millsap’s teammates stepped up and the Bulldogs halted Boise State and its three-game victory streak with an 81-71 decision at the Thomas Assembly Center.
“Paul has carried us so many times, won so many games for us, that it was time for some of his teammates to get the job done,” beamed senior point guard Daevon Haskins, who had 12 points, five steals, six assists and two rebounds in the win. “Our bench came through big time. Parish firefighters responded and were able to get one pumper truck close to the two-story frame house. But luck turned against the firefighters, Parish Chief Dennis Ford said.
“I had it (the fire) cut off,” Ford said. “We had the majority of the fire knocked down a little bit after 8 a.m., but we ran out of water.”

RHS splits two with Southwood

“Our knees were aching and we were pushing it seemed as much as the players, but I guess it helped,” smiled Bush Tuesday night, shortly after his Ruston High team jumped past the .500 winning percentage level in District 1-5A play.
The Bearcats’ offense, somewhat sluggish in recent league outings, featured three double figure scorers and steady shooting en route to a 65-48 victory over Southwood.
