Rattay: new ‘bounce’ for Bucs?

Rattay has been selected by head coach Jon Gruden as the team’s starting quarterback against the Browns in Cleveland on Sunday.
A super performance by the all-time passing leader (12,746 yards from 1997-99) at Tech against the Chicago Bears last weekend has earned the native Arizonian an advance to the No. 1 team.

Tech’s Dooley in, GSU’s Spears out

“What are the chances of that happening?” observed one Tech fan leaving the Hall of Fame Room after the 38-year-old Dooley was introduced as the 31st head coach in the program’s history and then learning of Spears’ departure. “That’s wild.”
It also marks the exit of two head coaches for parish universities in the past month, Tech’s Jack Bicknell having his responsibilities terminated after an eight-year stay.
Spears spent three years as the Tigers’ head coach, the first in an interim basis for a 2004 campaign in which the club went 6-5-0.
