Zac bounces back like a Champion

Champion was near perfect, going 13-of-18 on the aerial charts for a total of 226 yards and a career-best four touchdowns.
He also averaged 5.4 yards per rush, taking the football seven times and netting 38 yards, a long gainer of 23 yards being included.
Not only were the numbers a complete turaround from the previous week, but Champion lived up to his determination “to bounce back and recover” from the struggles of the previous week.
“I was confident I could come back and play well,” he said following the Bulldogs’ first WAC win of the season.

Think safe, not scary

If a parent is not accompanying his children trick-or-treating, he should follow these steps from the NSC:
• Make sure that an adult or an older responsible youth will be supervising the outing for children under age 12;
• Plan and discuss the route trick-or-treaters intend to follow. Know the names of older children’s companions;
• Instruct your children to travel only in familiar areas and along an established route;
• Teach your children to stop only at houses or apartment buildings that are well-lit and never to enter a stranger’s home;
• Establish a return time;

Keep the fires burning, Council

It was, bar none, the liveliest discussion I’ve seen in Grambling since I arrived in February.
I even made the comment in a previous column that I would have liked to have seen more debate during recent elections.
I guess coming from Farmerville, I had gotten pretty used to lively council meetings.
I won’t go as far as to say some of their meetings bordered on the brink of getting out of hand, but on at least one occasion “diarrhea of the mouth,” police intervention and the threat of an arrest sprinkled the proceedings.
