Pee, Brown to unite in matrimony

Mr. and Mrs. Perry M. Pee, of Eros, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, K. Taylor Pee, to J. Rance Brown, son of Eddie and Liz Brown, of Brandford, Fla.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Nancy Clendenen, of Ruston, and the late H.L. Clendenen and the late Daisy and Sidney Pee. The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Brown, of Perry, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Hall, of Brandford.

Taylor attends McNeese State University pursuing a degree in agriculture business. Rance is a graduate of McNeese State University.

Morgan, Letendre to exchange vows in March

Penny Coker and Danny Sherman, both of Minden, are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Christy Renee Morgan, to John Philip Letendre, of Ruston.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ray Coker, of Benton, and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Morgan, of Vivian, and the late Carol Morgan. Christy is a 2008 graduate of Minden High School and a 2012 graduate of Louisiana Tech University where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She is currently employed as a manager with Ponchatoula’s of Ruston.

Brown, Kelpe to wed at Natchez plantation

Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Bradford, of Natchez, Miss., announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Anne Brown, to Lance Wayne Kelpe, son of Dr. and Mrs. Jim Finley, of Ruston, and Mr. Bruce Kelpe, of Arcadia.

Rebecca is a graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, with a degree in kinesiology, and The Institute of Ultrasound Diagnostics in Spanish Fort, Ala. She is employed at Northern Louisiana Medical Center. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Linda Warren, of Denver, Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Bradford, of Olla.

LPSB audit clean

Board approves RHS stadium update

The Lincoln Parish School Board received good news during their regular meeting on Tuesday night when independent auditor Margie Williamson, CPA, gave them a clean audit with zero findings for the fiscal year ending June 2012.
Williamson, who is a partner at Allen, Green and Williamson of Monroe, said the school system is in good financial shape. She did point out that the report contained a suggestion for improving the method the school board uses for work orders. However, she said it was just a suggestion, not a finding.

Providing more water

Potential grant would give Choudrant needed funds

The Village of Choudrant hopes to extend its water service to members of its community by applying for a grant that would provide funds to extend an existing water line.
“Under the new business, you will see we have a grant application,” Bill Sanderson, mayor of the Village of Choudrant, said. “This has been in the works for two or three years and it is limited to water improvements. It has some specific guidelines on the limitations.”
Sanderson went on to address the aldermen about the location and use of the new water main the grant would fund.

Tractor Supply to host ‘Horse Health and Nutrition’ event

The local Tractor Supply store, located at 2507 N. Service Road East, will be hosting a Horse Health and Nutrition event from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
Open to the public, visitors will have the chance to learn about maintaining their horse’s health through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities.
“Whether you just bought your first horse, own several or want to learn about today’s best equine management practices, our Horse Health and Nutrition event at the Ruston store will be a fun and informative experience,” Jerry White, store manager, said.
