The Grambling City Council will hold a Public Hearing Thursday, May 5, 2016, at 5:45 p.m. the Public Hearing at Grambling City Hall & Community Center, 127 King Street, Grambling, Louisiana for the purpose of the following:
ANORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAMBLING TO DECLARE PROPERTY AS SURPLUS AND TO AUTHORIZE SALE OF SAID SURPLUS PROPERTY
1982 Fire Truck-- The minimum purchase price for the sale of this property shall be $15,000.
The property may be inspected at the Grambling Fire Department between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Louisiana Tech head men’s basketball coach Eric Konkol added more depth to his ront court on Monday with the signing of LaBarrius Hill to a national letter of intent in the late signing period.
Hill, who goes by the name “Barri,” has spent the past two seasons at Itawamba Community College and now joins recent junior college transfer Omar Sherman, as well as fall signees Jalen Harris, JaColby Pemberton, Oliver Powell and DaQuan Bracey as the newest members of the Tech Bulldogs.

Choudrant to face Hornbeck

Garrett Willingham (batting) and the Choudrant Aggies baseball team return to Class B playoff action at 5 p.m. today as they pay a second-round game at Hornbeck. The seventh-seeded Aggies (16-12) defeated No. 26 Weston 12-1 in first-round play while No. 23 Hornbeck is coming off an 11-0 road upset over No. 10 Quitman.

Four Tennis Techsters named All-CUSA

Louisiana Tech had one of its most successful seasons in program history and it showed in the postseason awards as four Lady Techsters were named All-Conference USA which was voted on by the league head coaches.
Alexandra Starkova, Jazmin Britos, Marta Sramkova and Zoe Chen were selected, playing a big role in helping Tech to a 15-win spring season, tied for the fourth most ever, as well as the program’s first ever national ranking and first ever win over a nationally-ranked opponent.

GSU’s Barraza honored

Grambing State senior infielder Larry Barraza, pictured sliding safely into home plate, has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week after going 9-for-18 at the plate in four games last week and helping Grambling State to a sweep of Prairie View. He collected four extra base hits, including a double and three home runs, 10 RBIs and scored six runs as he slugged 1.056 and had a .500 on-base percentage. He helped the Tigers outscore the Panthers 42-23 over the three-game series.
