Kincannon, Madden wed in New Orleans

Elizabeth Nicole Kincannon, of Ruston, and James William Madden, of Minden, were united in holy matrimony in a 6:30 p.m. March 16 ceremony at St. Marks United Methodist Church in New Orleans. The Rev. Brian Mercer, of Ruston, officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ellis Kincannon, of Ruston, and the granddaughter of Sarah Howell Kincannon, of Ruston, the late Lt. Col. Benjamin Patrick Kincannon, Betty Jennings White, of Ruston, and the late Clarence Jackson White.

LSP employee arrested on drug, fraud charges

A press conference is expected today in relation to the arrest of a Louisiana State Police employee.
According to the booking affidavit, Ronald O. Thomas, of 75 Magnolia Drive, Monroe, was arrested at 2:06 p.m. by the Louisiana State Police for public payroll fraud, conspiracy to distribute schedule II/cocaine, distribution of schedule II/cocaine, malfeasance in office and obstruction of justice.
The booking affidavit stated that the investigation of Thomas’ alleged illegal activities began in June 2012.

Annual crawfish boil raises $10K for MOD

Many area residents partook in an annual rite of spring in Louisiana Friday evening, and helped a good cause in the process.
Those people munched down mudbugs at the fourth annual March of Dimes Crawfish Boil sponsored by Community Trust Bank and Green Clinic.
More than 1,800 pounds of crawfish cooked by Jo Daddy’s were eaten and combined with T-shirt sales and a silent auction, the boil helped raise $10,000 to benefit the March of Dimes.
“It ended up being a great event,” said CTB Public Relations Specialist Sarah McKinnie.
