Armed robbery suspect sought

Boatright, T. Scott.jpg

Ruston police are searching for an armed robbery suspect following an early-morning incident at the Hampton Inn on Friday.
RPD Capt. Tim Parker said that at approximately 3 a.m. Friday, a Caucasian male in his early 20s, standing approximately 5-foot, 9-inches in height, wearing a hoodie and allegedly brandishing a handgun, jumped over the counter in the hotel lobby, forced a clerk to a back room and stole an undetermined amount of cash.
“All the clerk could really tell is that he had dark facial hair,” Parker said.

Edward Lee, of Bernice, better known to his friends and family as Eddie Lee, has been appointed as the new lake commissioner for the Bayou Lake D’Arbonne Watershed District board.
However, no one, not even Lee, knew he had been chosen for the position until the press release announcing the appointment was published recently in The Gazette.
“A few months ago, I had enquired about how to apply,” Lee said. “I found out about an application online and so I filled it out and turned it in.”
