Shady Pines RV Park in Texarkana, Texas, seemed a good place for hosts Patsy and Larry Bond and Vickie and Fred Benefield to invite the Caney Lake Good Sammers to a camp-out on April 24-27. Though rain had been predicted, the days were cool and sunny — just right for camping.

Ivan Wilson, Jr., has already had his own baseball trading card.
That came courtesy of his appearance in the 2012 Under Armour All-American game held at Wrigley Field in Chicago, where 36 of the top rated high school players in the country gathered to show their skills in front of a large contingent of Major League Baseball representatives.
Figure on some more cards in the future for Wilson.
The senior outfielder at Ruston High School is ranked among the Top 200 prospects for the 2013 MLB draft that will begin Thursday and conclude on Saturday.

Nancy Bergeron, communications manager for the Ruston Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, said the annual festival still has spots available for those hoping to sell their wares in late June.
“We’re still taking arts and crafts and merchandise vendors, but not food vendors,” Bergeron said. “Food vendor spots are full.”
