Anne Cook Tabarlet

Anne Cook Tabarlet, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, slipped into eternity to meet her Savior early in the morning on Thursday, June 6, 2013. Greeting her in heaven were her husband of 44 years Dr. Bobby Tabarlet, her parents David and Bess Cook and her brothers Donald and James. College roommate and life-long friend, Lydia David Coleman, was also in the company to greet her. Anne was born in Ruston, LA on June 15, 1930 and graduated from Ruston High School in 1947, Louisiana College in 1951 and received her Master's Degree in Education from LSU in 1958.

James C. Swanner

James C. Swanner, age 75, of Junction City died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at UAMS in Little Rock, AR.  He was born January 14, 1938 to Charles and Mildred Swanner of Junction City.  James served in the US Navy where he served as an electronic technician Third Class N, and was responsible for maintenance of the guided missile system aboard the USS Los Angeles.

RFD makes arrests in burglary string

Three area residents, including one juvenile, were arrested following an investigation by the Ruston Police Department on multiple burglaries throughout the Ruston area.
According to reports, the Criminal Investigation Division of the RPD obtained an arrest warrant for Jasiah Rayshun Foster, 18, of 186 Wayside Drive, Grambling, following an investigation of a series of burglaries that allegedly occurred over the course of several weeks.
