U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-New Orleans) probably said it best.
“It’s hard for many people in Louisiana to believe we have a water scarcity because we’re surrounded by water,” she said as she attended a roundtable discussion concerning the Sparta Aquifer Monday at the Lincoln Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau/Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce building. But that is the scenario north Louisiana is facing in regards to the depleting Sparta Aquifer.

New Tech holds Freshman Kickoff event

New Tech @ Ruston officially opened the 2013-14 year with its annual Freshman Kick-Off event. Hamiltons hold 55th annual family reunion

The 55th annual family reunion of the descendants of Dr. James Meriwether Hamilton and wife Julia Calhoun Hamilton was held on Aug. 4 in the Fellowship Hall of the Downsville United Methodist Church with 57 members and guests attending.
After the blessing of the food by Bob McGehee, a covered dish meal was enjoyed by all.

Tech’s COES releases 2012-13 annual report

Louisiana Tech University’s College of Engineering and Science has released its 2012-13 annual report titled, “Beyond the Finish Line.”
The report provides a review of student and faculty accomplishments and awards, and lists alumni support for the academic year. It also provides program-by-program enrollment numbers for the previous academic year, average ACT scores, research dollar expenditures and the total number of degrees conferred.
