Tech signs new baseball coach

It’s the price of success for mid-major college athletics programs.

And once again Louisiana Tech finds itself on the paying end after receiving national attention.

The remarkable season that recently ended for the Louisiana Tech baseball — one in which the Diamond ’Dogs went to the NCAA Regionals for the first time ever, reaching the championship round at Mississippi State — has led to Greg Goff being hired away by the University of Alabama.

The curtain will rise on “the tale as old as time” beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dixie Center for the Arts.

“Beauty and the Beast Jr.” is a children-led production of the fairytale classic presented by the Ruston Community Theatre.

“This production is a junior version of the Broadway hit ‘Beauty and Beast’ based on the 1991 Disney animated film,” Johnathan Baines, member of the Ruston Community Theatre, said. “As a junior musical, it is shortened to accommodate a younger cast.”

There are more than 50 cast members participating in the production.
